- The Sobeys & Empire Work Experience & Scholarship Program awards numerous scholarships valued at $1,500 and Future Leader Awards which includes support of up to $10,000 in total over four years of full-time study and summer internship employment opportunities.
- The D&R Sobey Scholarship annually awards $60,000, over the course of four years’ study, to six outstanding students from Atlantic Canada pursuing a commerce degree at Queens University.
- The Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies presents six $10,000 awards to full-time business school students attending schools in Atlantic Canada. Since its inception in 1989, more than $700,000 has been awarded.

Yes! Sobeys is much more than just a national grocery chain. As well as careers in-store we also provide support for those stores through our retail support centres and our national and regional corporate offices throughout the country.
If a job becomes available at a location in the city where you will be attending school, you will have an opportunity to be transferred to that store location.
We offer a wide array of work experience placements within the various facets of our business. These positions can be in a variety of departments including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Store Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, Information Technology, and many other areas. Recruitment for our summer internship and co-op positions takes place between January and March and jobs will be posted on this site.
We try to have some representation at local career fairs but sometimes we are unable to attend every event. We recommend that you speak with a contact person from your school to see if Sobeys is attending.
